Help & guidance
BaseMate Support
Everything you need to get reliable, repeatable guidance when levelling a rectangular base or platform.
Place your phone or tablet on a known flat, level surface using the same case and orientation you will use for measuring. Open BaseMate and tap Calibrate.
How to use BaseMate
- 1Calibrate the device
Let it rest completely still on a known level surface, then tap Calibrate.
- 2Enter the dimensions
Set the full width and depth of the rectangular base. Choose metric or imperial units as required.
- 3Position the device
Place it centrally just inside the near edge, with the top of the device pointing toward the far edge.
- 4Adjust the corners
Raise the indicated corners by the displayed amounts. Red indicates low, blue indicates high and green is within tolerance.
- 5Measure again
Recheck after every adjustment. Move to a side edge and swap width and depth to confirm the result.
Common questions
The reading keeps changing
Small variations are normal. Keep the device still, avoid touching the supporting surface and allow the reading to settle.
The result appears inaccurate
Recalibrate on a verified level surface. Keep the same device case fitted and use the same device orientation.
Important
BaseMate is a practical estimating aid. Motion-sensor accuracy varies between devices and conditions.
Confirm critical measurements with an appropriate physical level before construction, installation or loading the base. Keep the device secure and away from unstable structures.
